Another Court Agrees: Military & Overseas Voters Must Be Protected this Election

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. District Judge Christopher Conner tossed out an effort in Pennsylvania to block ballots cast by deployed military members and other American citizens overseas. Today’s ruling comes after similar cases were dismissed by state courts in North Carolina and Michigan. In response, Secure Democracy USA Vice President of Advocacy Charley Olena released the following statement:

“When American citizens overseas are sacrificing so much, including military service members defending our freedoms, the last thing they should worry about is whether their vote will be counted in our elections back home. We are pleased that courts across the country are united in rejecting these appalling efforts to disqualify the ballots cast by citizens defending our freedoms abroad.”
