In-Person Early Voting Improves Election Integrity & Voting Access in Mississippi
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JACKSON, Miss. – Today, the Mississippi legislature will hold a joint hearing on voting and election issues, including the possibility of establishing in-person early voting in Mississippi.
The hearing comes after Senator Jeremy England proposed in-person early voting legislation in the 2024 legislative session, which passed the senate with strong bipartisan support.
Samantha Buckley, the policy director at Secure Democracy USA who is presenting in support of in-person early voting at the hearing today, issued the following statement:
“In-person early voting will improve both election integrity and voting access for Mississippians. This is a secure, common-sense policy used in almost all other states. Secure Democracy USA looks forward to working with Mississippi legislative leaders on this vital policy to ease burdens for voters and election administrators in the 2025 legislative session.”
